The Oak Tree Gala is more than just a celebration — it’s an evening that fuels our mission and strengthens the roots of our nonprofit for the year ahead. As a nonprofit organization, fundraising isn’t optional; it’s essential. The generosity of our community directly supports our programs, expands our impact, and ensures we can continue serving those who rely on us.
This event brings together supporters, partners, families, and friends for a meaningful night of connection and purpose. It’s a chance to sprinkle a little magic, celebrate the bright little minds we’re nurturing, and invite everyone to help make their world even more full of wonder and possibility by raising funds for the school — supporting our programs, building, and grounds — so that generations of children can continue to experience the joy and magic of the Acorn School.
Hosting the event at The Brook makes this evening even more special. The Brook has become a valued community partner, and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support. As part of state gaming regulations, casinos are required to donate a portion of their proceeds to nonprofit organizations — and we are honored to be a beneficiary of those funds. Over the past several years, The Brook’s contributions have played a significant role in helping us grow and sustain our mission.

THE CHIPMUNK’S KANDINKSY
All of the Chipmunk classes worked together to prepare beautiful community art papers with the help of many parents. Through a variety of creative techniques—including marble painting, plastic bag stamping, bubblewrap painting, cookie tray printing, and symmetry painting—the children explored color, texture, and pattern in playful ways.
This shared process encouraged creativity, cooperation, and problem solving as the children worked together to create “The Chipmunks’ Kandinsky,” a vibrant masterpiece inspired by the joy of artistic exploration.

THE 4’S SUNSET TEXTILE
This beautiful weaving project reflects the children’s creativity and growing skills. As they carefully wove materials through the vertical loom, they practiced fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, crossing midline, and bilateral coordination while strengthening the small muscles in their hands. Working on a vertical surface also helped build core strength, shoulder stability, and wrist positioning that supports early writing development. This is a one-of-a-kind keepsake celebrating creativity, determination, and the joy of hands-on learning.

THE MIGHTY OAKS’ WATER LILIES
The Mighty Oaks had the opportunity to explore painting inspired by the work of Claude Monet with visiting artist Sara Argue. Through this experience, the children practiced focus, creativity, and fine motor control while experimenting with color and texture. They approached the project with curiosity and care, taking pride in each step of the process. The Mighty Oaks were deeply engaged in the experience and are incredibly proud of their final painting—a true masterpiece that reflects their creativity, perseverance, and joy in artistic exploration.
